6th Grade Math
Currently we are working in chapter 11. We will spend a few days on 11-1 (Write Expression) as this is a skill that will be used throughout any study in algebra and is an important concept since it's practice writing what we say into algebraic expressions. The rest of the chapter focuses on evaluating expressions, including those expressions with squares and square roots.
Remember: PEMDAS represents the order of operations, but could instead be PEMDSA or PEDMAS or PEDMSA instead since multiplication and division are equally important and addition and subtraction are equally important. It's imperative that you remember whichever one (M or D then A or S) you come to first (reading left to right), that's what you do first!

Focus GLEs:
- A2A6: Use symbolic algebra to represent unknown quantities in expressions or equations and solve one-step equations.
- A2B6: Use the commutative, distributive, and associative properties to generate equivalent forms for simple algebraic expressions.
