Classroom Norms (Expectations)
*Classroom norms were established by the 7th graders and 8th graders collectively to establish norms building-wide for all middle school students to follow.
What does safety look/sound like in a technology-based classroom?
1) Students are seated with 4 (chair legs) on the floor.
2) Before obtaining a computer, discharge all static by touching the cart.
3) Carry computers with two hands and by the base not the screen.
4) No food or drinks around computers.
5) No horseplay.
6) Computers are not left unattended.
7) Do not touch or use someone else’s computer.
8) Return computer to the correct location when done.
What does respect look/sound like in a technology-based classroom?
Students are…
1) concerned about their own work and not others'.
2) following teacher’s instructions.
3) careful to stay away from inappropriate sites.
4) not a distraction to others.
5) quiet and respectful when others are talking.
6) listening to and valuing input of others.
7) tolerant of others and work cooperatively with all members of the class.
What does responsibility look/sound like in a technology-based classroom?
1) Sound is at an appropriate level.
2) Alert teachers of problems, issues, and concerns.
3) Students are on-task.
4) Students are prepared for each class.
5) Students meet due dates and deadlines.
6) Students make their work their own.
